You should not use an adapter to convert displayport to hdmi anywhere in the signal chain other than right at the source. If you haven t already swap out your hdmi cable for a hi speed hdmi cable with a speeds of at least 10 2 gbps but preferably 18 gbps. It seemed to work only sporadically. Not really what you want in an adapter as the picture disappears once you stop applying pressure.

Hello i am currently using the plugable usb c docking station and having issues with my dell p2213 detecting its connection to the docking station through a comprehensive displayport to hdmi cable. I suppose an hdmi to dvi cable would work unless you need the dvi port on the display for something else. An hdmi cable is going to my pc monitor which works and a displayport to hdmi cable to my tv for xbmc. The displayport provides 3 3v dc power on pin 20.

Computer is a dell precision 5510. Hdmi can t carry displayport signal and a plain cable can t convert signals.
