In conjunction with a tiled covering the matting forms an uncoupling waterproofing and vapour pressure equalisation layer to accommodate construction moisture occurring within the substrate and an uncoupling layer for problematic substrates. Ditra 25 is a polyethene mat with square dovetailed recesses and an anchoring fleece laminated to the underside. This matting has a series of studs built into the surface to make installing schlüter cables quick and easy alternatively it can be used without ufh as a replacement for ditra 25 matting with the above added benefits. Schluter ditra matting sometimes called schlüter ditra 25 can be used for both floor and wall applications.

Schluter ditra and ditra xl are specifically designed for ceramic and stone tile installations ditra and ditra xl provide uncoupling to prevent cracked tile and grout. Using the thin bed method and following all applicable industry standards set the tile or stone covering directly on the schlüter ditra 25 in such a way that the tile adhesive becomes mechanically anchored in the square cut back cavities of the schlüter ditra 25 matting. The substrate must be even and load bearing.
